DELAWARE LOTTERY TO EXPAND SPORTS WAGERING OFFERINGS
NEW BETTING OPTIONS WILL INCLUDE A CHANCE TO WIN $100,000 AND A LOCAL TEAMS PARLAY CARD

DOVER, DE (November 20, 2009) -- Building on the success of its recently launched sports lottery, the Delaware State Lottery is unveiling several new parlay card wagering offerings starting with this week's pro football games. One of the new games will offer players the chance to win up to $100,000 on a single parlay card wager

In addition to the football parlay cards presently offered each week – Half-Point, Teaser and Super Teaser cards – the Delaware Lottery next week is planning a special $100,000 Parlay Card. For a $5 wager, customers will be able to win $100,000 by selecting 15 NFL games correctly against the point spread. The $100,000 card will be distributed on Thursdays with the other weekly cards at Delaware's three racetrack casinos: Delaware Park, Dover Downs and Harrington.

This week, the Delaware Lottery is introducing the “Delaware Favorites Card,” which will exclusively feature games with locally popular teams. On Monday, the Delaware Lottery will also introduce the “Monday Night Card,” which will allow players to parlay the featured Monday night game into games on the following week's NFL schedule.

“The State has been pleased with the growth in handle and revenues generated by the sports lottery since the first week of the football season in September,” said Delaware Acting Finance Secretary Tom Cook. “We've been listening to customers and looking to add new wagering options to keep the sports lottery fresh and exciting. We believe these new parlay card offerings will be appealing and keep customers returning week after week.”

The Delaware Favorites card will include the Eagles, Giants, Ravens and Redskins games for the current week and the following two weeks of the schedules. For the first time, customers may select games across weeks. For example, a customer could choose the Giants and Eagles this week, the Ravens next week, and the Giants, Eagles and Redskins the following week in a 6-team parlay. The payoffs will be the same as on the standard Half-Point card, ranging from 6 ½ for 1 on a 3-team parlay to 800 for 1 on a 10 teamer. The card will be available at all the racetrack casino sports books by 12 noon on Thursdays along with the other cards.

The Monday Night Card will include the current week's Monday Night game, plus the full slate of games from the following week. The Monday Night Card will be valid on Mondays only until the close of the sports books that night. The payoffs will also be the same as on the Half-Point Card.

Since launching on Sept. 10, total money wagered each week in the sports lottery has grown by nearly 300%. The handle has increased in each week of the season, with $735,194 the most recently reported handle number for the week ending Nov. 15.

First Bettors Score at Delaware Park With Start of “Parlay-Mania”

Wilmington, Del., September 17th, 2009 Hundreds of eager sports fans from Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland packed the Delaware Park Race and Sports Book this past weekend to place their first parlay sports bets on NFL games and enjoy the first Sunday of the NFL season.

"We're very happy, very pleasantly surprised at the turnout and level of interest for week one," said Delaware Park Chief Operating Officer Andrew Gentile. "As the season goes on, we expect to offer more promotions and bring in even larger crowds.”

Delaware Park opened the sports book on Thursday after the Delaware Legislature earlier this year reinstituted parlay sports betting on NFL games. Gentile said the Delaware Lottery Office should have the final tally for the first week of parlay sports betting later this week.

Many of the fans this past weekend chose to gather in the expansive sport book area at Delaware Park . Patrons can watch NFL games from around the league on one of the largest indoor video displays, keep track of line information on a large video board and place bets at the sports book counter.

Meanwhile on the floor above, fans enjoyed food and drink specials in Delaware Park's Club 3 Sports Bar . Patrons entered drawings for tickets to professional sporting events and entered a season-long drawing with a grand prize of air fare, room accommodations and two tickets to the BIG GAME in Miami, Florida.

“With our outstanding customer service, great food and drink specials and huge, state-of-the-art video walls, word is spreading fast that Delaware Park isn't just the only legal game in town for parlay sports betting, it's the best place in town to watch the NFL,” Gentile said.

Delaware Park offers parlay sports betting on NFL games in the ultimate gaming facility, including half-point parlay, teaser and super teaser cards, and “off the board” parlays. Parlay bets are accepted on a minimum of three NFL games. Parlay cards will be available in the Delaware Park Race and Sports Book area each Thursday by noon.

“Parlay-Mania” Starts at Delaware Park with
Opening of Delaware Park Race and Sports Book

Wilmington, Del., September 10, 2009 — Chuck Rudd of Newark, Delaware, approached the counter at the newly opened Delaware Park Race and Sports Book and did something that isn't legal anywhere else east of the Rockies—he placed a bet on NFL games.

Delaware Park , along with the other two Delaware casinos, recently gained approval to offer parlay sports betting on NFL games and with his $20 wager on the Eagles, Ravens and Colts, Rudd became the first person to make a sports wager at the casino's state-of-the-art sports book.

“It feels good to be the first bettor,” said Rudd, who stands to pocket $110 if his selected teams win. “As a sports fan, I never thought sports betting would be legalized outside Nevada, but it's a great new offering to bring to the state of Delaware that will give citizens an exciting new entertainment option.”

Bill Fasy, president of Delaware Park , hosted a press conference to mark the opening and said he is optimistic that parlay sports betting will be popular with sports fans.

“In the last week, the excitement has been building,” Fasy said during today's press conference. “We think NFL fans will embrace parlay sports betting. In fact, with all the inquiries we have been getting, we have started calling it, Parlay-Mania. The entire staff at Delaware Park has worked hard to ensure we provide the very best atmosphere and customer service for our guests to watch and wager on NFL games.”

Delaware Park offers parlay sports betting (parlay cards and off-the-board parlays) on NFL games in the ultimate gaming facility, featuring state-of-the-art, floor-to-ceiling video screens with displays of sporting events throughout the nation and a board with updated information. Parlay bets are accepted on a minimum of three NFL games. Parlay cards will be available in the Delaware Park Race and Sports Book area each Thursday by noon.
