Jansa takes professional golf bid to Pebble Beach

by Joanne Miller

Ryan Jansa, the 8-time South Dakota Golf Association amateur champion, has been living the golf grind for the past 10 days. After making his debut on the PGA Tour Champions at the Sanford International, Jansa packed his bags and flew to California for another event qualifier at Black Horse golf course at Fort Ord. His hard work paid off as he qualified for the PURE Insurance Championship, a three-day PGA Tour Champions event at the prestigious Pebble Beach Golf Links.

For Jansa, playing at Pebble Beach is a dream come true. He describes it as the “Mecca of golf in this country” and feels honored to play on the same course as his golfing heroes. While he plans to take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the course, he knows that it ultimately comes down to hitting golf shots and playing the game.

Jansa is not only focused on his own experience at Pebble Beach but also on sharing the moment with others. He will be paired with junior golfer Abi Newell and wants to ensure that she enjoys the experience as well. Jansa recognizes that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for both of them and hopes to finish in the top 10 to avoid going through qualifying again for the next event in Florida.

After his performance at the Sanford International, where he shot even par after three rounds, Jansa is determined to keep pushing forward and playing in more PGA Tour Champions events. His goal is to make it into the field for the Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS in Jacksonville, Florida. Jansa believes that success comes from persevering through adversity and not giving up when faced with challenges.

Overall, Jansa’s love for the game and dedication to his craft have led him to this moment at Pebble Beach. He is grateful for the opportunity and is ready to continue grinding to achieve his goals in professional golf.
