TGL Announces Completion of 24-Player Roster for Tech-Infused Golf League

The highly anticipated tech-infused golf league, TGL, has finalized its 24-player roster with the addition of five more players. The league, which is being fronted by golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, announced the new additions on Tuesday, including U.S. Open winner Wyndham Clark and Patrick Cantlay.

Joining Clark and Cantlay are PGA Tour players Lucas Glover, Min Woo Lee, and Kevin Kisner. The addition of these players completes the inaugural roster of 24 PGA Tour stars who will be a part of the six TGL teams.

“This is a milestone day for all of us at TGL presented by SoFi,” said TGL CEO Mike McCarley in a statement. “To add five players of this caliber and finalize our inaugural roster furthers our momentum for our first event in January.”

The new players will join an already impressive roster that includes major championship winners Jon Rahm, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Keegan Bradley, Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose, Shane Lowry, and Adam Scott. McIlroy and Woods will also be competing in the league.

TGL is set to begin play on January 9th at a purpose-built arena on the campus of Palm Beach State College in Florida. The league will feature six teams, each with a four-man roster. Matches will be played in a match-play format on a virtual course with a short-game complex.

The inaugural season will consist of 15 regular-season matches, followed by semifinals and finals. Fans can catch all the action as the matches will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN+.

Patrick Cantlay expressed his excitement about being a part of TGL, saying, “The more I talked to the other players involved in TGL, the more I wanted to be a part of the competition. This is a great opportunity to showcase golf in a new tech-forward format during primetime. TGL will give us a chance to not only highlight our skills as players, but also showcase a side of ourselves different than what fans traditionally see from us on the course.”

In addition to announcing the complete roster, TGL revealed four of the six franchise names and owners: Atlanta Drive GC, TGL Boston, Los Angeles Golf Club, and TGL New York.

With the roster now set, anticipation is building for the start of TGL in January. Golf fans and players alike are eager to see how the tech-infused format will transform the sport and bring a new level of excitement to the game.
