Plans are underway to transform a plot of grassy land in West Palm Beach into a mini golf course. The project, co-owned by golf legend Tiger Woods, is expected to bring numerous job opportunities and economic growth to the area.

The Palm Beach County commissioners have approved a lease agreement with PopStroke, the company behind the mini golf course, to build the facility at Palm Beach International Airport. The location near the airport is seen as advantageous, providing additional options for both locals and visitors to the county.

Kristen Liberman of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County highlighted the benefits of the project, stating that it “provides extra options while traveling not only for locals but people visiting our county as well.” The board has assisted PopStroke with expediting permits and connecting them with local economic development services.

PopStroke CEO and founder Gregory Bartoli, who is a Palm Beach County local, expressed his excitement about catering to a diverse community through the project. He revealed that the new site in West Palm Beach, as well as future locations in Delray Beach and Wellington, would generate a significant number of job opportunities, with a projection of approximately 450 full and part-time team members across the three venues in Palm Beach County.

The PopStroke mini golf course in West Palm Beach will occupy about 3.37 acres of land and feature two 18-hole courses. Bartoli emphasized the rapid growth and economic diversification happening in the community, underlining the positive impact of the project on the local economy.

Laura Beebe, the director of airports at Palm Beach International Airport, expressed excitement about welcoming PopStroke and praised the investment they are making in the airport and the county. Beebe highlighted the dedicated shuttle service to the PBI Terminal, which would provide passengers with an ideal location to gather and relax before and after flights.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the mini golf course is expected to take place in January 2024, with a public opening anticipated around November 2024. The project represents a significant investment in the local area and is set to contribute to the ongoing growth and development of West Palm Beach.

As plans progress, residents and visitors alike can look forward to enjoying a fun and unique golfing experience at the PopStroke mini golf course. With the involvement of Tiger Woods and the promise of job creation and economic stimulus, this project is set to be an exciting addition to the West Palm Beach community.
